Why We Solve This Problem
It is no longer new to say that AI is changing the world. Faster answers, more information, and smarter tools are pouring out every day. But we want to ask: “Are people really becoming better at making judgments the more they use AI?” “Are they becoming better at understanding what they want the more they use AI?” In Socra AI’s view, the answer is not yet clear. And that very point is why we exist.
The Invisible Risk
The greatest risk of modern AI is not the wrong answer. It is 'invisible confidence.' When a user asks an ambiguous question, AI quietly chooses one interpretation and returns a fluent answer. The user accepts that answer without realizing that their question could have been read in multiple ways. They also do not realize that the response could just as easily have gone in a different direction. This is not merely a technical limitation. When AI operates like 'an oracle with a single correct answer,' the user becomes not the agent of judgment, but the receiver of results. That is the essence of the problem we seek to solve.
The Same Problem Repeats
Learners preparing for exams have long relied on 'instinct' and 'repetition.' The process of deciding for themselves what to study, how much to study, and by when is vague and anxiety-inducing. But exams are structured problems, with clear scope and evaluation criteria. With the right data and AI analysis, the direction of learning can become much clearer. Santa began from exactly this awareness of the problem. The same is true of spoken English. Even after years of learning English, the sentences that actually come out of one’s mouth often remain only fragmentary combinations of words. This is not a matter of motivation or willpower. It is because people have not been properly trained in 'the way the brain builds sentences.' Real Speaking and Real Class aim to solve this problem through learning design based on cognitive science and psychology. The world of investing is no different. In the U.S. stock market, decades of financial statements and tens of thousands of Wall Street reports have accumulated. But 'too much information' instead becomes a wall for investors. Bestway seeks to change the structure that makes people rely on fragmented news and uncertain community information.
The Structure of the Problem We Aim to Solve
The problem Socra AI seeks to solve is not confined to a single domain. “Using AI, language learning, investment judgment.” These are three areas that appear different on the surface, but they share a common structure. People do not know how to read and judge AI’s answers, rather than passively accepting them. They do not know how to turn content and information into their own capabilities, rather than simply consuming them. Because they do not know what they do not know, they do not know where to begin. What these problems have in common is not 'a lack of information.' It is 'the absence of the power to judge.' Socra AI designs products so that users themselves can develop that power to judge.
Our Starting Point
The name Socra AI comes from Socrates. Socrates said, 'Know thyself.' And there was only one way to do that ㅡ relentless questioning. Now, 2,000 years later, that method has a new tool, and that tool is artificial intelligence. But the destination has not changed. Today, the fastest way to come to know yourself begins with understanding the AI you use. Socra AI does not focus on making AI produce smarter answers. We focus on helping users ask sharper questions and make clearer judgments. Our mission is for users to grow through that process.
